(Correspondent: Chen Liangying) On April 8, the 2025 meeting of the Technical Committee of the National Research Center for Digital Learning Engineering Technology and the National Engineering Research Center for Educational Big Data Application Technology (hereinafter referred to as the "National Engineering Center") was successfully held in Room 1182, Nanhu Comprehensive Experimental Building, Central China Normal University. Wang Huaimin, academician of the CAS Member, Professor Yang Zongkai, director of the National Engineering Center, Professor Liu San, member of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and vice president of Central China Normal University, expert members of the appointed technical committee, heads of relevant functional departments of the university and deputy directors of the National Engineering Center attended the meeting. The meeting was chaired by Wu Di, Executive Vice Director of the National Engineering Center.
Liu San, representing the school, delivered a speech and warmly welcomed and sincerely thanked all the experts for their attendance. He pointed out that as an important platform for school scientific and technological innovation and serving national strategies, the development achievements of the National Engineering Center have benefited from the long-term professional guidance and strong support of the Technical Committee. He introduced the school's practical exploration and important progress in the digital transformation of education in recent years from three aspects: building a new system for the transformation of education in the era of intelligence, creating a new highland for scientific research innovation and educational services, and promoting the transformation and upgrading of modern university governance models. He stated that the Technical Committee is a "think tank" and "star setter" for the construction and development of the two national engineering centers. He looks forward to further strengthening the strategic layout and high-level connotation construction of the centers under the guidance of experts, and assisting the school's "Double First Class" construction.
Yang Zongkai stated in his speech that the development of the National Engineering Center should adhere to the strategic direction of "standing tall from the sky", that is, "standing tall from the sky" should strengthen organizational management, collaborative planning, and strategic leadership capabilities; 'Site' should focus on technology research and development, achievement transformation, and serving the major educational needs of the country. He pointed out that the current National Engineering Center still faces prominent problems such as an incomplete original theoretical system, insufficient autonomous and controllable ability of educational AI, and difficulty in implementing educational technology applications. He expects the experts of the Technical Committee to continue to provide suggestions and recommendations on the strategic positioning, scientific research direction, institutional construction, talent cultivation, and other aspects of the center, to help the center achieve a leap from a technology research and development platform to a national strategic scientific and technological force.
The appointment ceremony for the new technical committee experts was held at the meeting. Wu Di introduced the composition and background of the members of the Expert Committee. Director Yang Zongkai issued the appointment letter of director of the Technical Committee to Wang Huaimin, an academician of the CAS Member. Liu Zhen, Deputy Director of the Education Management Information Center of the Ministry of Education, Zhang Long, Director of the Digital Textbook Publishing Center of Higher Education Press, Professor Bai Xiang, Dean of the School of Software at Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wang Shijin, Vice President of iFlytek, Yan He, CTO of Yunqi Wisdom, Xu Ling, President of Shuyi Technology, and Hu Zhe, President of Beijing Xijia Wisdom, accepted the appointment of the Technical Committee on site. Researcher Cheng Xueqi, Deputy Director of the Institute of Computing of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Researcher Rui Yong, President of Lenovo Emerging Technology Group, attended the meeting online and were hired.
Wu Di systematically introduced the development history, key construction nodes, and four research directions of the center. He stated that the center will take this technical committee meeting as an opportunity to further consolidate consensus, optimize layout, and promote collaboration under the guidance of experts.
