Chao Sun is an Associate Professor at Central China Normal University. He received his Ph.D. from Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015 and joined the National Engineering Research Center for E-Learning in 2017.

His research interests include intelligent educational principles and applications, machine learning and pattern recognition, educational multimedia analysis, educational large language models, and intelligent educational agents. He has hosted two projects and participated several projects funded by National Natural Science Foundation of China. He has published several academic papers in international journals and conferences, like IEEE Transactions on Multimedia, IEEE Transactions on Cybernetics, ACM Transactions on Intelligent Systems and Technology, IEEE International Conference on Teaching Assessment and Learning for Engineering (TALE), and so on. He also served as the executive member of committee of Multimedia Technology of China Computer Federation (CCF), and the member of committee of Multimedia Technology of China Society of Image and Graphics (CSIG).
