Three-dimensional Integrated Teaching Environment and Demonstration Application

In July 2017, the State Council released the New Generation Artificial Intelligence Development Plan, which, for the first time at the national level, introduced the concept of a “three-dimensional integrated teaching environment.” As emerging technologies such as virtual reality, big data, blockchain, and artificial intelligence continue to evolve, a key challenge in the metaverse era is how to effectively leverage these tools to deepen and broaden educational experiences—by creating immersive learning spaces, designing personalized teaching scenarios and resources, and developing intelligent systems for learning assessment.

The three-dimensional integrated teaching environment represents a new generation of intelligent learning spaces powered by digital technologies. It supports the creation of contextualized, personalized, and virtualized learning settings, enabling immersive, hands-on, and interactive learning experiences. This model helps optimize teaching and learning processes, offers technical support for enhancing educational equity and quality, and plays a vital role in advancing the vision of a “smart society.” It encompasses both intelligent 3D teaching systems for classroom use and smart professional development platforms designed for teacher training.
