National Grand Prize for Excellence in Higher Education Teaching — Rebuilding and Innovating University Talent Development Systems via Deep Integration of Information Technology

China introduced its highest honor for teaching excellence in 1994 when the State Council established the National Teaching Achievement Awards for higher education. This prestigious award system, considered equal in status to the nation's top science and technology awards, recognizes outstanding achievements in university teaching innovation and educational reform. Awarded every four years, it demonstrates China's strong commitment to improving higher education by honoring exceptional work in teaching development and talent cultivation. The Grand Prize represents the highest level of this recognition, with only two institutions receiving it each award cycle. In 2018, our university achieved a historic milestone by winning this rare Grand Prize for our groundbreaking work on integrating information technology with talent development systems. Notably, this was the first time the top prize had ever been awarded to a project primarily focused on educational technology innovation.
