To address challenges like data interoperability and efficient collaboration within the education system, a comprehensive Standards System for Educational Big Data has been developed. This framework aims to broaden the types and dimensions of educational big data collected across various teaching models. By establishing standardized data models, it breaks down barriers to data exchange between platforms, accelerates collaborative data development and sharing, and provides both a structural framework and detailed specifications to support the standardized development and effective use of educational big data in China.
The Standards System for Educational Big Data consists of eight key components:
Foundational Standards
Educational Resource Standards
Educational Entity Standards
Educational Behavior Standards
Educational Technology Standards
Educational Management Standards
Educational Application Standards
Educational Data Security Standards
Recognizing the unstructured, distributed, heterogeneous, and decentralized characteristics of educational big data—and guided by learning sciences and educational theories—a set of standards has been formulated to create a unified system. These standards cover foundational data, resource data, entity data, behavioral data, supporting technologies, management, applications, and data security.
